Joint Injections

Print Friendly

Joint injections are simple outpatient procedures performed to increase mobility and to relieve bone and joint pain due to injury, arthritis or other causes. During the joint injection procedure, an anesthetic that is sometimes mixed with steroid is injected into or around the specific joint. Often the physician utilizes motion picture X-rays (fluoroscopy) to ensure that the medication is placed in the best area to increase mobility and/or to address issues related to pain.
